2026 North Dakota State Scholastic Chess Tournament

Date: Saturday March 28, 2026

Where: Bismarck Eagles Club at 313 N 26th Street, Bismarck, ND 58501

Registration: 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM

Start Time: 10:15 AM

Who: Grades K-12 (Participants Do NOT need to belong to a chess club)

Sections: K-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12

Rounds: 5 (Students may request one ½-point bye if they need to miss a round)

Fee: $15 for grades K-5, $20 for grades 6-12

Notes: The Kitchen will be open from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM; Other food and beverages will be available all day; NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED IN THE PLAYING HALL; NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES ALLOWED

Girls’ Chess Nights

There are girls’ chess nights scheduled for the 2nd Friday of the month for the remainder of the school year. This is a free club open to females of all ages and ability levels.

Dates: April 10, 2026 and May 8, 2026

Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

2026 North Dakota State Closed Chess Championship (Must be a North Dakota Resident)

Date: April 11 & 12, 2026

Location: Quality Inn at 1030 East Interstate Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58503 (CALL THE QUALITY INN DIRECTLY AND ASK FOR THE CHESS RATE TO RESERVE ROOMS)

Fee: Adults $60; College $40; K-12 $30

Rounds: 6

Prizes: Trophies for 1st and 2nd places; Cash prizes based on entries

Registration: 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Round 1: 9:15 AM

Round 2: 12:30 PM

Round 3: 3:30 PM

Round 4: 7:30 PM

Sunday

NDCA Meeting: 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Round 5: 9:15 AM

Round 6: 1:00 PM
